Important Rental Information
Age Policies:
- Paddlers under 19 years old must have a parent or legal guardian complete the above parental consent form.
- When paddling with children (aged 5-15), there must be a 1:1 adult to child ratio.
- When paddling with infants (aged 1-4), there must be a 2:1 adult to infant ratio.
- Kayakers under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult (19+) in a double.
- Kayakers looking to paddle with an adult in the front and back of the boat, with a child in the middle, please give us a call to ensure we have the proper boat for you needs, as the number of these are limited.
Solo Paddling:
- Please note that solo paddling (kayaking alone) is strictly prohibited without solo capsize & recovery experience and proof of competence. Click here for more information on a certification course.
- Renting SUP: You must be aged 12-15 to go on your own paddle board. An adult must still be present on the water. Guests aged 16 and up can take out their own board with no adult supervision. A waiver must still be signed by a parent/guardian.
Dogs:
The District of North Vancouver does not allow dogs on the beaches at Cates Park, so we do not allow dogs on our rentals.
Cancellation Policy:
- Hourly Rentals: 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel a regular reservation. There is a $15 cancellation penalty per boat per day for less than 24 hours’ notice. Your rental period begins from the start time of your reservation.
- Overnight Rentals: 48 hours’ notice for cancellation otherwise the same charge of $15 per boat will apply.
Overnight Rentals:
To book an overnight rental to camp in the Indian Arm at either Twin Island, Bergs Landing, or Granite Falls, please give us a call. There are more details and logistics to go over for a trip like this, so overnight rentals are not bookable online. For an off-site overnight rental, please also give us a call at (604) 985-2925.
