4 Sessions – $175

Beginner Level:(8-10y/o)  Ideal for beginner paddlers with some water experience/First time receiving structured coaching in kayaks.

Skills included: Forward stroke efficiency, boat control, modified self rescues, intro to paddling in wind and waves. Intro to risk management on the water. Team building games.

Intermediate (Age 10-13)
4 Sessions – $350

Intermediate level (9-13y/o) Intro to performance paddling. Paddling experience is strongly recommended.
Skills and activities included:  Forward stroke instruction, Self rescues, Surfing waves & technique mentoring.
Includes Running, bodyweight strength exercises. Mini races and interval workouts.

Advanced team/Performance paddling team. (13+ y/o) Technique paddling experience required. (more self-directed)
Skills included: Forward stroke analysis, complex self, and assisted rescues. Racing tactics. structured training plan. fitness circuits. Race opportunities, tide race paddling.

Coach Bio:

Seth Putnam-Rea is the Assistant Paddling School Director at Deep Cove Kayak and a certified Level 2 Instructor with Paddle Canada. He has extensive experience coaching children. Seth is supportive, friendly and has endless energy! He has competed in Surfski races around the world such as the Canadian Downwind Championships, The Gorge Downwind Champs, The King and Queen of the Bay in New Zealand and the 2019 Ocean Racing World Championships in France! Seth prides himself on creating a positive learning environment where children feel supported and cared for and where they are always learning and having fun!
